It is with great enthusiasm that we announce the upcoming Food System Microbiomes 2025 International Conference! This second conference will explore the interconnectedness of microbiomes across food systems and their critical roles in addressing global challenges. It will be held in place in Wageningen, known as the “City of Life Sciences” from 25-28 November 2025. Building on the success of the first Food System Microbiomes Conference in Torino, Italy, which brought together over 160 delegates from academia, industry, and policy sectors, this event will continue to foster collaboration and innovation in the field. Microbiomes remain pivotal to advancing sustainable and resilient food systems. This year’s conference will feature discussions on microbiomes for global health, mitigating climate change, enhancing circularity and sustainability, improving nutrition and human health, and addressing risks in the food system. We will also spotlight novel microbiome concepts, cutting-edge applications, and emerging technologies driving progress in these areas. A special highlight of the conference will be an open session organised by early-career researchers, providing a platform to showcase their insights and contributions to the field. The Food System Microbiomes 2025 International Conference is organised by the MicrobiomeSupport Association, continuing its mission to increase awareness and drive innovation in food system microbiomes. This event offers a unique platform to connect with leading experts, share groundbreaking research, and shape the future of microbiome science. Looking forward to welcoming you in Wageningen at the Food System Microbiomes 2025 International Conference!
